Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support ThedaCare Physician Services, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will perform coding reviews for primary care and specialty services, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with industry standards while working remotely with flexible hours.

Key responsibilities:

• Reviews and assigns CPT and ICD-10-CM codes for various clinic services with high accuracy
• Conducts documentation reviews and shares results with providers to identify educational opportunities
• Collaborates with clinical staff to clarify and complete medical records for accurate coding

Required qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Coding certificate or associate's degree in medical business or coding/health information
• One year of experience in general medical or specialty coding
• Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CPC-A, CCS, or CCS-P)
• Must be 18 years of age
