Job Summary

To support the orthopedics and multi-specialty departments, the full-time Medical Coding Specialist II will perform coding for various medical services, ensuring accuracy and compliance while working remotely from an approved state.

Key responsibilities

• Perform medical coding for orthopedic and multi-specialty services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines
• Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding queries as needed

Required qualifications

• 1 year of progressive coding experience required
• Active coding certification (CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CRC, RHIT, or RHIA) upon hire is required
• Medical Coding education or equivalent experience is required
• Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
• 2 years of progressive coding experience in multiple specialties, including HCC Risk Adjustment Coding, preferred
