Job Summary
To support coding accuracy and compliance in a remote environment, the full-time Certified Medical Coder II will translate clinical information into coded data for ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry services, while ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Completes medical coding by translating clinical information into appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Assists with documentation and coding compliance, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and internal standards
- Collaborates with team members to resolve coding issues and improve coding processes and accuracy
Required qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent AND minimum two (2) years of coding experience, or two (2) years of coding experience and one (1) year in a corporate or business office environment
- Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
