Job Summary
To support coding compliance in a remote environment, the full-time Certified Medical Coder II will translate clinical information into coded data for ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry services, while also reviewing medical records and addressing coding issues to reduce denials.
Key responsibilities:
- Complete medical coding by accurately translating clinical information into appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Review ambulatory medical records to identify necessary edits and perform denial reviews
- Collaborate with clinicians and coding staff to resolve coding issues and improve submission timelines
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of coding experience, or two (2) years of coding experience with one (1) year in a corporate environment
- Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
