Job Summary
To support coding compliance in ophthalmology, optometry, and podiatry, the full-time Certified Medical Coder II will translate clinical information into coded data, review medical records for accuracy, and assist with denial processing while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Completes medical coding by applying coding guidelines for diagnoses and procedures with supervision
- Reviews ambulatory medical records to identify and remediate coding edits and denial issues
- Collaborates with team members to ensure compliance with coding standards and regulatory requirements
Required qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent, along with two (2) years of coding experience
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
