Job Summary
To support coding accuracy in ophthalmology and podiatry, the full-time Certified Medical Coder II will translate clinical information into coded data, ensure compliance with coding standards, and assist with documentation and denial reviews while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Complete medical coding by translating clinical information into appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Assist with documentation and coding compliance by following federal, state, and internal regulations
- Collaborate with team members to address coding issues and improve coding processes
Required qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of professional coding experience
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent AND minimum two (2) years of coding experience, or two (2) years of coding experience and one (1) year in a corporate environment
- Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist required at hire
