Certified Medical Coding Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding Auditor-Outpatient.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit medical records for accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific coding regulations
• Identify and correct coding errors, providing feedback and training to coding staff

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field preferred
• Active certification required; CPC or CCS preferred
• At least three years of direct experience in coding/auditing applicable services
• Prior auditing experience in a provider or payer setting is desirable
