Certified Medical Coding Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding Auditor-Outpatient (OIG Focus) with clearance required.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific coding regulations and guidelines
• Identify and correct coding errors, providing feedback and support to coding staff

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field preferred
• Active certification required, with preference for CPC or CCS certifications
• At least three years of direct experience in coding/auditing and medical chart review
• Prior auditing experience in a provider or payer setting is desirable
