Certified Medical Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding and Research Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze billing for medical appropriateness and compliance
• Apply national coding standards and prepare findings based on claims and documentation
• Monitor trends and communicate clinical education to staff regarding claims and regulatory changes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field or completion of medical coding certification
• Current nursing certification or certified coder (CCS, CCS-P, CPC) preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or insurance auditing
• Knowledge of hospital and professional billing requirements, including various coding systems
• Experience in auditing and health information management in a healthcare setting preferred
