Certified Medical Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding Specialist II - Profee-Multi specialty.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize encoder, grouper software, and coding resources to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Maintain knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiatives, Local Coverage Documents, and Medicare guidelines to select appropriate codes
• Apply regulatory requirements and institutional guidelines in coding practices

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education required, or an active coding certification in lieu of education
• Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
• 1 year of progressive coding experience required
• 2 years of progressive coding experience in multiple specialties preferred
• Various coding certifications required upon hire, such as CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CRC, RHIT, or RHIA
