Certified Medical Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding Specialist II - Multi-Specialty (pro-fee).

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize encoder and coding resources to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Maintain knowledge of coding initiatives and apply regulatory requirements to select appropriate codes and modifiers
• Ensure compliance with National Correct Coding Initiatives and Medicare guidelines

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education required, or active coding certification in lieu of education
• Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
• 1 year of progressive coding experience required
• 2 years of progressive coding experience in multiple specialties preferred
• Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent required upon hire
