Job Summary
A company is looking for a Medical Records Coder II.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and accurately code complex medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding conventions
- Coordinate and review the work of designated employees while ensuring quality through regular audits
- Abstract data from medical records to ensure optimal reimbursement and consult with physicians on coding practices
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- High school diploma required
- Must hold one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or HCS-D
- CCS certification requires one year of coding experience
- CPC or HCS-D certification requires two years of coding experience
- No prior experience required for RHIA or RHIT certification
