Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Records Technician (Coder-Outpatient).

Key Responsibilities

• Assign codes to outpatient and inpatient professional services using ICD, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
• Review health record documentation to ensure accurate coding and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Utilize computer systems to code, abstract, and transmit data to the national database while correcting any identified errors

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• One year of experience in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical coding
• Associate's degree in health information technology or completion of an AHIMA approved coding program
• Certification through AHIMA or AAPC is required
• Preferred experience includes five years in medical records coding
