Certified Medical Staff Specialist

Job Summary

Serving as the key Medical Staff Office contact, the full-time Senior Medical Staff Services Specialist will manage local medical staff activities, collaborate with the credentialing office on appointments and reappointments, and participate in hospital committees to ensure continuity of services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for local CMO, medical staff leadership, and committees
• Oversee all local medical staff office duties, ensuring effective communication and resource allocation
• Work closely with the system credentialing office regarding initial appointments and provider reappointments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience
• 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment, including at least 1 year in medical staff or credentialing functions
• Certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Professional Medical Staff Manager (CPMSM) and/or Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
• Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively with medical staff leaders
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards related to Medical Staff Services preferred
