Job Summary
A company is looking for an Oncology Data Specialist - Certified.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and abstract oncology patient data for reporting and research purposes
- Ensure accurate coding and documentation of cancer cases in compliance with state and national guidelines
- Monitor and report quality discrepancies in the electronic medical records
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in health sciences or related field with coursework in Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology
- Oncology Data Specialist credential (ODS-C) must be obtained within two years of hire
- Two years of medical office experience related to malignant diseases and tumor classification
- Completion of college courses in Pathology is preferred
