Job Summary
A company is looking for an Oncology Data Specialist Certified.
Key Responsibilities
- Abstracts patient cancer data into the cancer registry database and assigns staging according to established standards
- Conducts data analysis and prepares reports on cancer patient data for research and program development
- Performs quality assurance and auditing of registry data to ensure accuracy and completeness
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- 6 credit hours in Human Anatomy and Human Physiology or equivalent experience (required)
- Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) by the National Cancer Registrars Association (required)
- One year of experience in a hospital or state cancer registry (required)
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred
- Two years of experience in a hospital or state cancer registry preferred
