Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Certified Oncology Data Specialist will review clinical documentation to extract data, apply ICDO-O codes, and ensure compliance with cancer reporting guidelines while participating in quality improvement activities.
Key responsibilities
- Translate medical terminology into standardized codes for patient diagnosis and treatment information
- Code, stage, and enter data into the registry database according to established guidelines
- Perform data quality control activities and collaborate in generating reports for special studies
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Currently certified as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
- 5+ years of experience working in a tumor registry as an ODS
- Experience in a COC accredited hospital
- Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week with flexible hours available
