Job Summary
To support cancer patient data management, the part-time remote Certified Oncology Data Specialist will collect, code, and analyze data on new cancer and bone marrow transplant patients, ensuring compliance with state and national registries.
Key responsibilities
- Codes, summarizes, and stages patient information according to complex rules while conducting necessary research and analysis
- Creates case abstracts and ensures annual follow-up information is collected for each patient
- Conducts quality control activities and serves as a liaison for collaborative studies within industry groups
Required qualifications
- Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) certification required
- Minimum of 6 months experience as ODS-C in a Commission on Cancer (COC) accredited facility or 1 year in a non-COC accredited facility
- Preferred minimum of 3 years experience as ODS-C in a COC accredited facility
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe
