Job Summary
To support patient care in a remote setting, the full-time Certified Ophthalmic Technician will perform clinical and diagnostic duties, including conducting ophthalmic testing, obtaining patient histories, and documenting findings while ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform remote ophthalmic triage by assessing patient symptoms and determining the appropriate level of care
- Coordinate patient care by responding to communications from scheduling staff and collaborating with providers
- Document patient encounters and clinical recommendations accurately within the electronic medical record
Required qualifications
- Completion of Ophthalmic Technician training
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
- No prior experience required beyond education/training
