Certified Ophthalmic Technician

Job Summary

To support patient care in a remote setting, the full-time Certified Ophthalmic Technician will perform clinical and diagnostic duties, including conducting ophthalmic testing, obtaining patient histories, and documenting findings while ensuring compliance with clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform remote ophthalmic triage by assessing patient symptoms and determining the appropriate level of care
• Coordinate patient care by responding to communications from scheduling staff and collaborating with providers
• Document patient encounters and clinical recommendations accurately within the electronic medical record

Required qualifications

• Completion of Ophthalmic Technician training
• Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
• No prior experience required beyond education/training
