Certified Ophthalmic Technician

Job Summary

To support patient care in a remote capacity, the Certified Ophthalmic Technician will perform clinical and diagnostic duties, including obtaining patient histories, conducting ophthalmic testing, and coordinating care with scheduling staff, while ensuring compliance with clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform remote ophthalmic triage by assessing patient symptoms and determining appropriate care disposition
• Coordinate patient care by responding to communications from scheduling staff and collaborating with providers
• Document patient encounters and clinical recommendations accurately within the electronic medical record

Required qualifications

• Completion of Ophthalmic Technician training and certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician by JCAHPO
• No additional experience required beyond education/training
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may be considered
