Certified Outpatient Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Facility Auditor.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform medical record audits of outpatient hospital and ambulatory surgery center documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
• Create audit summary documentation and enter results into the Claim Reviewer system
• Participate in code-related appeal decisions and provider calls as necessary

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• One of the following coding certifications: CPC, COC, CCS, or CCS-P from AHIMA or AAPC
• At least 2 years of experience in medical code auditing in an outpatient facility
• Advanced knowledge in CPT / HCPCS coding and National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits
• Proficient in a PC Windows environment
