Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coder 3.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze electronic medical records (EMR) to identify diagnoses and procedures for coding
• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient records to ensure accurate reimbursement
• Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards while complying with policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of ICD-10 and CPT outpatient coding experience
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to health system policies
• Experience with encoder, computer-assisted coding, and EMR software applications
