Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coder to ensure accurate and compliant coding for outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities

• Review outpatient medical records to abstract diagnoses, procedures, and services
• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accordance with official coding guidelines
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance to support optimal reimbursement and minimize denials

Required Qualifications

• Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in outpatient medical coding
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Strong understanding of outpatient reimbursement methodologies, including APC and payer-specific rules
• Experience with EHR systems and coding software
