Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coder I.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately code all outpatient visits for statistical and billing purposes
• Perform abstracting to ensure accuracy and completeness of outpatient records
• Utilize coding guidelines and principles in daily tasks

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Associate's Degree in a Science field with completion of an accredited program through AHIMA or AAPC preferred
• Coding certification (CCA, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CPC-A) required
• Completion of the MH Coder I Apprenticeship program or one year of outpatient coding experience required
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding guidelines and principles required
