Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for DoD Outpatient Coders.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform multi-specialty outpatient clinic coding, including ED, minor procedures, radiology, rehabilitation, and lab encounters using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Maintain active coding credentials and produce documentation as required
• Utilize E/M leveling guidelines and coding tools such as the E/M calculator and 3M Encoder for accurate coding

Required Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of DoD or relevant coding experience
• Active certification as a coder from recognized organizations (AHIMA or AAPC)
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and reimbursement methodologies
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be a US citizen and pass an initial entrance exam
