Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation to extract data and apply appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes
• Resolve billing errors and assist in workflow changes to reduce inaccuracies
• Utilize coding systems and maintain compliance with coding guidelines and departmental policies

Required Qualifications

• Advance coding certification (e.g., CCS, CPC, RHIT/RHIA)
• Associate's degree in Health Information Management is required
• Full CPC certification must be obtained within specified timeframes if applicable
• Homecare Diagnosis Coding Specialist (HCS-D) certification required for homecare positions within 16 months of hire
• Relevant work experience may be required based on certification status
