Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support a dynamic healthcare team, the part-time temporary Certified Outpatient Coder will code outpatient procedures, abstract patient data, and ensure compliance with coding standards while working fully remote.

Key responsibilities:

• Code all outpatient procedures according to client specifications
• Abstract patient data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client policies
• Stay updated on coding policies and procedures, and initiate physician queries as needed

Required qualifications:

• Credentialed medical coder with at least 3 years of experience
• AHIMA certification preferred; AAPC may be considered
• Experience in facility outpatient coding for large trauma Level I facilities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Availability to work between 6a-6:30p Pacific time, Monday to Friday
