Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare operations, the part-time Certified Outpatient Coder will accurately abstract and enter data into electronic medical record systems while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to Observation and Outpatient Surgery Accounts
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements
• Communicate with physicians and Clinical Documentation staff to clarify clinical information and resolve coding issues

Required qualifications:

• Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential
• Minimum of 3 years of coding experience
• Experience in observation coding
• Successful completion of e4health Outpatient assessment
