Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Outpatient Coder will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for Outpatient Facility Same Day Surgeries and Observations, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high accuracy rates.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide coding services and calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels using company algorithms
• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes while interpreting coding guidelines for precise code assignment
• Participate in company training and maintain compliance with ethical coding standards and internal policies

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job experience in Same Day Surgeries and Observations coding
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including basic spreadsheet functions and email management
• Experience with EMR and billing systems is required
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
