Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Outpatient Coder will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for Outpatient Facility Same Day Surgeries while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high accuracy levels.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
- Calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels using company algorithms and recognize critical care cases
- Participate in training and maintain ongoing productivity and quality scores of 95% or higher
Required qualifications:
- Must be certified through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P), with a minimum of 2 years of experience in SDS and OBS
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with experience in EMR and billing systems
- Must possess reliable internet and current coding materials, including CPT and ICD-10-CM references
- Ability to maintain punctual attendance and meet productivity deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
