Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support accurate reimbursement and compliance, the fully remote Certified Outpatient Coder will review, code, and abstract outpatient medical records while ensuring adherence to established coding guidelines and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review outpatient medical records to identify documented diagnoses and procedures
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes in accordance with established coding guidelines
• Code and abstract a diverse range of outpatient encounters, including emergency department and infusion services

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent specialized education and training required
• One (1) to three (3) years of outpatient medical coding experience
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and outpatient coding guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Certification as a Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) or equivalent required
