Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Outpatient Coder will utilize technical coding expertise to accurately abstract physician services and assign appropriate ICD-10 CM codes, ensuring compliance with official coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Review medical records to abstract physician services and diagnosis codes with a minimum of 98% accuracy
• Provide documentation feedback and communicate new or revised billing and coding guidelines to providers
• Resolve pre-accounts receivable edits and assist in obtaining necessary documentation for coding reimbursement

Required qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification (CPC, CPC-M, CPMA, CEMC, or CCS-P) preferred
• 2+ years of experience in outpatient profee medical coding
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 CM coding
• Experience with Epic systems
