Certified Outpatient Coding Consultant

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coding Consultant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and meet productivity standards
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to appropriate personnel

Required Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certified credentials (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
• 2+ years of coding experience in a hospital or coding consulting role
• Proficiency in various coding specialties including Same Day Surgery and Emergency Department
• Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software
• Required to pass annual HIPAA examination and other assigned testing
