Certified Outpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Certified Outpatient Coding Specialist seeks a skilled individual for a contract, remote position focused on accurate coding of Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology and Gastroenterology procedures in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ICD-10-CM and CPT coding for outpatient surgical cases, focusing on CVIR and GI services
• Review documentation for coding accuracy and compliance, and resolve NCCI and OCE edits
• Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to ensure clean claim submissions and maintain coding standards

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of acute care hospital outpatient surgical coding experience
• Experience coding CVIR and/or GI procedures
• Proficiency in EHR systems and coding software
• Certification as CPC, COC, CCS, or CIRCC
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT coding, and modifiers
