Certified Outpatient ED Coding Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Outpatient ED Coding Specialist will provide accurate coding services for various specialties, utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to support client revenue capture and compliance.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide coding services for surgical procedures in an ER setting to optimize revenue
- Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes while interpreting coding guidelines
- Maintain compliance with ethical standards and participate in ongoing training and education
Required qualifications:
- Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
- Minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience required
- Proficient in using EMR and billing systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Ability to maintain a productivity and quality score of 95% or higher
