Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Medical Coder 2.

Key Responsibilities

• Code outpatient medical records for reimbursement and data collection
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various outpatient services
• Review medical record abstract data for accuracy before finalizing charts

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; certification or vocational training preferred
• Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Technician, Registered Health Information Administrator, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Outpatient Coder
• 1 year of relevant experience required; 2-4 years preferred
• Experience with coding for emergency room, outpatient surgery, and clinic records is beneficial
