Certified Outpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

To enhance coding expertise in a flexible remote environment, the part-time Certified Outpatient Medical Coder will perform accurate code assignments for facility outpatient, same day surgery, and observation records while meeting client productivity targets.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to various outpatient records
• Maintain a coding quality of 95% or greater while meeting client productivity targets
• Utilize remote-based connectivity tools for effective communication and collaboration

Required qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certification
• A minimum of three years' coding experience in an acute care setting
• Proficiency in office software, including Outlook and Excel
• Technical competency with remote connectivity tools and video conferencing platforms
• Ability to commit to a regular schedule with reliable attendance
