Job Summary
To support accurate patient documentation, the full-time remote Certified Pathology Coder will review medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes while adhering to coding guidelines and meeting production goals.
Key responsibilities
- Review clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology services
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Meet daily production and quality goals while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Two years of healthcare coding experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS classification systems
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent from an approved governing body
- Experience with automated patient care and coding systems, such as Cerner Electronic Health Record
- Proficiency in MS Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment
