Job Summary
To enhance patient access services, the part-time Certified Patient Access Specialist will secure accounts through insurance verification, validate prior authorizations with payers, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits while creating pre-service liability estimates
- Act as a liaison between payers and clinic staff to ensure timely prior authorizations
- Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records of authorization requests and financial evaluations
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred
- Certification as a Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR) required upon hire
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience in Patient Access Services or related fields
- Proficiency in data entry with a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
- Familiarity with patient registration systems and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
