Job Summary
To support medication management, the full-time Certified Pharmacy Technician will review prior authorization requests remotely, assist in determining medical necessity for medications, and facilitate pharmacy claims from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6:30 PM Pacific Standard Time.
Key responsibilities
- Review and evaluate prior authorization requests against approved pharmacy criteria and request additional information as needed
- Accurately enter approvals or denials of medication requests and facilitate the prior authorization process in accordance with pharmacy policies
- Assist Molina member services and providers in resolving prescription claims and pharmacy service access issues
Required qualifications
- At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and/or active state pharmacy technician license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and applicable software programs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Experience in managed care and prior authorization processes is preferred
