Certified Physician Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Physician Coder: Hospitalist.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code professional services to maximize reimbursement
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and maintain a 95% accuracy rate
• Communicate with leadership regarding coding issues and participate in departmental meetings

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School diploma required; Associate or BS degree preferred
• Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-certified program with an active professional credential (CCS, CPC, etc.)
• Minimum of 3 years of physician coding experience with E/M leveling and office procedures
• Proficient knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10-CM coding guidelines
• Experience in various specialties such as Ophthalmology, Allergy, and Behavioral Health is a plus
