Certified Physician Coding Supervisor

Job Summary

Providing day-to-day operational and technical leadership, the full-time remote Certified Physician Coding Supervisor will oversee physician coders, ensuring accurate and compliant coding practices while supporting quality documentation and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of physician coders to ensure compliance with ICD 10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding standards
• Collaborate with coding leadership and other departments to enhance coding quality, productivity, and revenue integrity
• Implement and maintain knowledge of payer-specific policies and regulatory requirements related to coding practices

Required qualifications

• Associate Degree in Health Information Management or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of professional physician coding experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent
• Proficiency in coding software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a focus on integrity and attention to detail
