Certified Profee Coder
Job Summary
Seeking a motivated and experienced Certified Profee Coder, the full-time remote position will involve high-volume coding for a busy family practice clinic, including charges for HCC diagnostics and annual physical exams.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze medical records to accurately code diagnostic and procedural information in compliance with national coding guidelines
- Abstract clinical diagnoses and procedure codes from medical records, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Provide quality assurance for medical records to ensure compliance with coding rules and regulations
Required qualifications
- At least 1 year of recent experience in E/M Family Practice coding
- Currently certified through AAPC or AHIMA as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent specialized training in medical record keeping principles
- Six months of professional coding services or related healthcare experience
- Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles as demonstrated by certification
