Certified Professional Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Certified Professional Coder will assign PQRS codes, provide feedback to physicians on coding and documentation, and assist in developing templates and processes to ensure accurate coding in a corporate revenue cycle environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify incomplete documentation in medical records and formulate physician queries to obtain necessary information
• Investigate and resolve reimbursement issues, including denials, while adhering to departmental standards
• Provide training on code selection to new and existing staff, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and accuracy standards

Required qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 3 years of physician coding experience, particularly in Specialty Cardiology or General Surgery
• Graduate of an approved certified coding program preferred
• Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of MS Excel preferred
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent required
