Certified Professional Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time remote Certified Professional Coder will accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, manage billing and collections for client databases, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigns and sequences ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement
• Reviews medical records for deficiencies and ensures accurate documentation of diagnoses and procedures
• Abstracts clinical data to meet regulatory compliance and follows up on accounts to ensure proper documentation and billing

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices
• Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC, or AAPC certification) required
• Minimum of one year of professional coding experience
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software
