Job Summary

Detail-oriented and passionate about healthcare billing, the temporary Professional Fee Coder will work remotely within Pacific Time Zone hours to ensure accurate charge capture, optimize reimbursement processes, and uphold coding integrity in a leading healthcare organization.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and accurate flow of coded charges and apply appropriate coding to patient health information
• Collaborate with departments to optimize reimbursement and provide feedback to providers on documentation best practices
• Adhere to coding guidelines and standards while coding professional services and managing pre-bill edits

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in a work-related field or equivalent relevant experience
• Two years of progressively responsible work experience in medical coding
• Active certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent
• Expertise in ICD-9-CM & CPT-4 coding conventions
• In-depth knowledge of Correct Coding Initiatives and compliance issues
