Certified Professional Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Certified Professional Coder for a full-time remote position, responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, abstracting essential data for reporting and reimbursement, and managing billing and collections for client databases.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, ensuring accuracy for billing and reimbursement
• Review and analyze medical records for deficiencies, ensuring documentation reflects diagnoses and procedures accurately
• Communicate proactively with providers and staff to ensure adequate documentation and perform timely follow-ups on accounts

Required qualifications:

• Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC) required
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices required
• Minimum of one year of professional coding experience preferred
• Proficiency in computer data entry and electronic medical record systems preferred
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and health information management practices preferred
