Job Summary
To ensure accurate and compliant coding practices, the full-time Auditing & Monitoring Specialist will review medical records, perform audits, and provide educational training to healthcare providers in a fully remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records for compliance with EM, CPT, and ICD-10-CM coding standards
- Conduct pre-bill and post-bill audits, and provide training to healthcare providers on coding requirements
- Collaborate with the Auditing & Monitoring Team Lead to identify risk areas and enhance coding accuracy
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) is required; Associate degree in Health Information Technology is preferred
- Certified Professional Coder certification is required
- Previous or current long-term care experience is required
- Knowledge of ICD-10 Coding Procedures and HIPAA regulations
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and strong Excel skills
