Job Summary
Joining a dedicated coding team, the full-time Certified Professional Coder will work remotely to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, manage billing and collections, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assigns and sequences ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement
- Reviews medical records for deficiencies and ensures documentation meets regulatory compliance
- Communicates proactively with healthcare providers and staff to ensure adequate documentation and timely follow-up on accounts
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices
- Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC, or AAPC certification)
- Minimum of one year of professional coding experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning new software
