Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Certified Professional Coder, the full-time remote position will accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, manage billing and collections for assigned client databases, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement
- Review medical records for deficiencies and ensure documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards
- Communicate proactively with providers and staff to support documentation and follow up on accounts as needed
Required qualifications:
- Minimum one year of professional coding experience in an acute care or medical office setting
- Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC, or AAPC certification) is required
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices
- Experience with electronic medical record systems for data entry and retrieval
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
